Keith Johnson was born and raised in South Africa and has lived in the United States since 1985. Despite the years and distance, his connection to Africa has remained strong. His parents instilled in him a guiding principle: “Always find a way to give back to your community.” The African English Bible Project is the fulfillment of that principle—expanding the meaning of community to serve people throughout the African continent. Keith is a preacher, teacher, and missionary. He and his wife are blessed with three married children and two grandchildren.
Nhamo Marunga is from Zimbabwe. He serves as the Director of the Mutare School of Preaching, where he is devoted to training and developing preachers and church leaders for faithful service. Nhamo is married and is the proud father of three children.I am part of this project because I believe Africans need to hear the Word of God in voices that sound like home. It is a privilege to join other believers across the continent to proclaim One Gospel through Many African Voices. My prayer is that through this audio Bible, families, students, and churches will be strengthened and that many will come to know Jesus Christ.
David Thoronka is from Sierra Leone. He is married and blessed with four children. David serves as a preacher of the gospel with the Gloucester Church of Christ in Freetown.David joined The African English Bible Project because its mission aligns with his vision of helping African people hear the gospel in familiar voices—voices they can understand, relate to, and feel comfortable listening to. He believes this project has tremendous potential to give people across Africa greater confidence to listen to God’s Word and apply it to their lives. David is deeply grateful for the opportunity to be part of this important work.
Peter Sahr Makundu is a Sierra Leonean preacher, husband, and father of one. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Christian Religious Studies and serves the Harding Street Church of Christ in Kenema and Bear Valley Bible Institute. Peter is part of The African English Bible Project because he firmly believes that the Lord called him through the gospel of His Son to serve others and make a positive difference in the world. He sees this project as another opportunity to contribute to the growth of the Church of Christ throughout Africa and beyond. With God’s help, Peter hopes his contribution will help bring meaningful and lasting change for the Lord.
Austin Swartz is a native of Gqeberha, South Africa, and a member of the Newton Park Church of Christ. He was baptized into Christ in August 1982. Austin and his wife are blessed with four children and three grandchildren. As one of ten siblings, he learned early in life the importance of including everyone. That deeply rooted value inspires his involvement in The African English Bible Project—a vision that seeks to make God’s Word accessible through familiar African voices to a continent of more than 1.5 billion people.

Joseph Missailie Jr. is from Sierra Leone. He is married, the father of two children, and is joyfully awaiting the arrival of another. Joseph serves as a preacher of the gospel with the Burma III Section Church of Christ in Kenema.
Joseph joined The African English Bible Project because its mission aligns with his vision of helping African people hear the gospel in familiar voices—voices they can understand, relate to, and feel comfortable listening to. He believes the project can help people throughout Africa and around the world listen to God’s Word with confidence and apply its message to their lives. Jerry Love Adzoyi is from Ghana. He is married and blessed with three children. Jerry is a gospel minister with the Church of Christ and serves as Dean of Students at East Coast Bible Institute. In addition to his ministry and educational work, he is a fashion designer and the owner of Jerry Love Enterprise. Jerry is honored to be part of The African English Bible Project because he believes God’s Word should be communicated clearly and faithfully throughout Africa. He hopes to contribute to a project that is accurate, understandable, and valuable for evangelism, discipleship, and strengthening the church. Jerry considers it a privilege to serve alongside other faithful Christians in making God’s Word more accessible to present and future generations.

I serve at the Pickering Street Church of Christ. What better way not to just spread the Gospel but a way to reach millions of people. God uses everything to his advantage even social media. Hi my name is a Michael Sahr Triyoh, I am a Sierra Leonean gospel minister living in Kenema City in Sierra Leone’s Eastern Province. He serves as an instructor at Bear Valley Bible Institute and the Sierra Leone S School of Biblical Studies. Michael is married and blessed with three children.
